TalentWorld is recruiting a Millwright in Chilliwack, British Columbia for one of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on production equipment, boilers, and facilities.
- Operate and monitor boilers, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep accurate maintenance logs.
- Respond to emergency maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools for repairs.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance.
- Collaborate with team members and assist in training junior technicians.
- Power Engineer (Class 5) certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering (preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
- Completion of 2-year apprenticeship in Industrial Mechanic/Millwright (preferred).
- Trade qualification as an Industrial Millwright or Electrician (an asset).
- Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting (preferred).
- Knowledge of boiler operations and safety standards.
- Proficiency with PMXPERT or similar maintenance management systems (preferred).
- Experience using SAP (desirable).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Available for both morning and afternoon shifts (if needed)
