TalentWorld is recruiting a Aviation Technical Director in Calgary, Alberta for one of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical requirements for on/off lease aircraft, ensuring timely deliveries within budget.
- Provide technical input for lease agreements, aircraft repossession, and purchases.
- Manage key aircraft components (engines, APUs) and track asset performance.
- Review and approve maintenance reserves, overhaul scopes, and component exchanges.
- Conduct annual technical audits and ensure compliance.
- Support aircraft transitions and assist marketing and operations teams.
- Recommend commercial and operational terms for aircraft leases and purchases.
- Lead staff performance reviews and collaborate with HR on staffing issues.
- Implement procedural changes to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- P.Eng or equivalent preferred; relevant aircraft maintenance certifications a plus.
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles in aircraft fleet or maintenance management.
- Experience managing technical requirements for aviation assets, particularly in international settings.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in asset management systems, MRO software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage cross-functional teams, and willingness to travel.
