Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare prompt and accurate financial information and various reconciliations.
- Analyze and review financial information for reasonableness.
- Prepare financial statements
- Assemble bank reconciliation and account schedule
- Prepare journal entries, expense accruals and allocations
- Participate in a timely and accurate month-end closing process
- Analyze income statements fluctuations
- Provide process improvement and cost saving ideas
- Managing financial records, assist in financial reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance
Accountant Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Commerce/Business with a major in accounting
- Professional designation completed or in progress
- Proficient in accounting and/or auditing and strong understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge in using spreadsheet programs, i.e. Excel
- Proficiency in using accounting software programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven commitment to personal growth and development
- Strong time management and ability to multitask.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Highly organized and efficient
